Vince Cable Business Secretary?

I would appear that Vince Cable is now minister for keeping people happy? Just not the owners of the businesses he is there to represent. It is time he left the rarefied air of west minster and started talking to business owners, and then he would be able to represent business. As am owner of a successful SME I know that employee security is not created by labour law it is a function of a successful business. The more business is constrained the more unlikely they are to recruit people, I currently need an additional member of staff, though I will probably not recruit as it is such a task recruiting, finding someone suitable then if it is not working out having to go through the lengthy process of terminating there employment.

Contrary to Vince Cables views companies don’t go through the process of recruiting staff and training them just to fire them on a whim.

Get a grip Vince.

Postal lockers and post box lockers

POSTAL LOCKERS

The postal locker offers a secure and efficient way of dealing with a variety of processes in many different organisations.  The locker is an ideal and convenient way of sorting and storing mail, documents or items securely and effectively for individuals or groups of people in offices, shops,  flats and student  accommodation. The items are sorted into secure compartments each locked with an individual key or hasp lock for a padlock. For ease and speed of sorting or clearing the locker, a full height control locker door gives access to all the compartments at the same time – this creates an adaptable and efficient storage management system which also maximizes space in your post room.

Mail is accepted into the compartment via a slot in each compartment door. The slots are normally 25mm wide, but this can be changed to suit the requirement for document size and security. The postal locker is available in a wide variety of compartment sizes, starting with a 5 compartment size for large or great number of items, ranging through 8, 10, 15 and 20 compartments in each locker. The locker is also designed with either a flat top or sloping top, while locker stands and seat stands with ash slats give it excellent adaptability for different types of business.
The postal locker offers privacy and security for posted and stored items. Compartments are locked by a mastered series cam lock, supplied with 2 keys, for which a master key is available, and other locking options are available. The locker control door has a separate key for management access. The strength of the postal locker gives added security; the locker door and carcass is made of 0.9mm thick steel, while the door frame is hinged by means of a full length hinge rod 8 mm in diameter.
To sum up the postal locker facilitates the convenient, secure distribution of mail, maximizing efficiency and space in your post room.

Laminate door lockers

Laminate door lockers

This locker is both stylish and elegant in appearance as well as being tough and durable, this product was originally designed as a solution to lockers being vandalised in schools. The standard metal door locker is both adequate and fit for purpose in a caring environment and will provide trouble free service. The problem is when the environment is not caring; this locker will only stand so much abuse and is susceptible to a strong kick to the door of the lower compartment, having the effect of pushing the door right into the compartment itself. This vandalism results in administration and cost to the school and the locker or the locker door will need to be replaced.
Compact grade laminate lockers were designed as a solution to this problem and are now available in two forms, lockers with plant on or inset doors. The first product to market was the plant on door locker, with the door fitting across the front of the lockers. A swift kick to the door resulted in a sore foot and a desire not to attempt the kick again. The door material is available in a wide range of colours form wood grain, speckled, solid colours and special finishes, the standard door thickness is 10mm and as durable as a kitchen work top. Three of the most common manufacturers are Formica, Trespa and Polyrey. The plant on laminate door locker when viewed from the front presents a solid wall of laminate where none of the locker frame is visible; this has the effect of turning a utility product in to a very aesthetically pleasing product.
Product life span of a standard metal locker in some schools can be as short as 3 years a standard laminate door locker will provide a 15 year life span, should the need arise Total Locker Service can provide a full range of replacement locker parts and service.
The laminate door locker designed has also been designed to include an inset laminate door although not as aesthetically pleasing the security and durability of the product has been enhanced. The locker door like the plant on door, sits on the frame of the locker, this has been inset to allow a tight fit of the door within the frame, the standard locks have been redesigned to take a patented version where the cam lock is replaced with a special hooked “T” shaped cam that engages on both sides of the “T” with the hook of the cam securely latched into the frame making forced entry very difficult indeed. Also the locker cross members dividing the compartment are fully secured into the locker frame making entry to a locked compartment from the adjacent compartment very difficult.
Two laminate door lockers both designed to provide both security, looks and a long life why look anywhere else.

Email and web use 'to be monitored' under new laws, GCHQ

Email and web use 'to be monitored' under new laws, GCHQ

Great Britain the future

Great Britain the future

With the new law soon to be passed by the conservative government, UK is soon to become a police state where nothing is private and confidential all your phone calls, email, texts and web site communications will be instantly available to the state. It is not surprising that the government say this is essential for our security something the Nazis did a similar thing before annihilating the Jews, China and Iran also use the same tactics to keep their people under control. At what price liberty, at what point will the balance pass from protecting to controlling. The proposed powers are not needed and unwanted.

Lockers, the solution to removing the risk of date disclosure in centres by staff mobile phones

Lockers, thesolution to removing the risk of date disclosure in centres by staff mobilephones

Most mobile phones currently in manufacture incorporate a high resolution still and video camera, normally this is a good function, unfortunately if you work in a call centre regulated by the UK Financial Services Authority this simple devise poses a very real threat to sensitive customer fanatical information. Given the resolution and quality of the current generation of camera phones these devises whether intentionally or unintentionally used are capable of capturing good quality screen images that cam be easily enlarged and read. This poses an unacceptable risk to sensitive customer data, there have already been a number of incidents where customer data has unintentionally been disclosed through photos being taken in the office and a computer monitor is in view. The naked chef Jamie Oliver.

The naked chef Jamie Oliver.

How much can one person compromise to win an advertising contract, Jamie Oliver the naked chef is now advertising a range of frozen fish, this is hardly the basic good food cooked simply concept he built his reputation on. Jamie have you ever had the misfortune of actually eating the product? This is what is lovingly called cardboard fish in our house.
Jamie said “I like to serve these fishcakes with mushy peas or some freshly cooked greens, with a squeeze of tomato ketchup or a lemon on the side.” I would recommend straight to the bin.
I am a lover of fish and detest the way fish is advertised, persuading the public that it is difficult to cook.
Fish is one of the best and simplest meals to cook and if done simply with fresh fish from a good fish monger is a joy. There is a wide selection of fish other than cod or haddock and I would encourage you to try them all.
Jamie I know the money is appealing but should you really be advertising this product?

Barmy Bishop of Leicester: Benefits cap

Barmy Bishop of Leicester: Benefits cap

Who can you justify families on benefit receiving £26,000 that is more than most working families earn.
I can understand why the government want to cap befits as for a large number of people reviving large benefit payments there is no incentive for them to seek employment. My argument is why should hard working low income tax payers subsidise people who have no intention of ever contributing positively to society. It is far too easy to use the excuse that there are no suitable jobs or that they don’t have the qualifications, I find this difficult when we have a large number of hard working eastern Europeans who manage to secure employment with the disadvantage of English being there second language.
